Introduction

Sometimes I feel completely buried by my to-do list. As a wife, mom of two, student and business owner my responsibilities are seemingly endless, and everyone wants a piece of me and my checkbook all the time. Until recently I let all of these responsibilities run my life and prevent me from spending any energy on improving myself. In the past seven months I have turned my life around. I started turning to food for nutrition instead of comfort, and went from a mostly sedentary lifestyle to training like an athlete. A lot of this was influenced by a Biggest Loser-style competition I joined on Facebook, and since it started in July of 2011 I have lost almost 100 lbs. The competition was honestly just the fuel to my fire. I had always known I had to do this. I knew that if I wanted to live a long and healthy life I had to bite the bullet and really embrace change. I'd tried losing weight with diet and exercise before, but honestly I was in denial about the changes that needed to happen in my diet. I'll share the details of my previous and current diet in my next blog. Fortunately for any of you reading, most of my posts will actually be well written. I run an in-home daycare, and at the moment my creative juices are waning due to the cries of one little baby miss in my care. Please stay tuned for recipes, workout plans, progress pictures, and lots of ranting about work, my daily life, and people in general. It will be a lot of fun around here! Promise. :)

    1. Oh my goodness, you're so sweet! I just barely saw this. Sorry about that! I just posted my first recipe, and I updated my training schedule for this week. In case you're ever curious about what I'm eating... :D
